Due to COVID-19 the Inaugural CESSAI has been postponed until June 2021. We will be keeping all presentation applications submitted for this current year on file for next year. We look forward to CESSAI 2021!

Welcome to the Create Eastern Sierra Summer Arts Institute, CESSAI

The dates for CESSAI are June 17-18, 2020.

The purpose of this Institute is to provide arts training and tools for classroom teachers to integrate arts into their regular classroom lessons.

The workshops are 90 minutes long total. The expected format is an interactive and exciting 60-minute lesson! There should be about 25-30 minutes after the lesson for reflection and questions. Each participant should be able to walk away with ideas and new tools to use for integrating arts successfully into their lessons.

Should your workshop proposal be accepted, Mono COE’s CESSAI will pay you a $150 honorarium for each 90-minute workshop taught. You are encouraged to submit 1 or 2 lesson plans and you may be invited to offer those lesson plans multiple times during the two-day Institute. We will also cover a two-night stay in a hotel should you need those accommodations*. Cost of materials and supplies that you need for your workshop will be provided. *Mono County residents please contact us before making reservations for accommodations.

All workshop proposals should include the following:

  • Engaging format that involves the participants and stimulates discussion.
  • Completed CESSAI Teaching Artist Lesson Plan Template
  • CA ARTS STANDARD addressed and/or SEL COMPETENCIES addressed and/or CA ACADEMIC STANDARD addressed.
  • Deadline for proposals is March 15, 2020.

Workshops will be reviewed to provide a balanced educational program. Applicants will be notified about their proposal status via email by March 31st

  1. The call for proposals interests me as a consultant and professional development clinician for arts integration. Please see my LinkedIn profile https://www.linkedin.com/in/elemusic and website https://elemusic.net. If would like to know whether there is room in the schedule for presenting three sessions, if my proposals are accepted. Since I live in Southern California, I would need to have more than two workshops to compensate for the long trip. Thank you for your consideration.
