Welcome to the Create Eastern Sierra Summer Arts Institute, CESSAI

The dates for CESSAI are June 17-18, 2020.

The purpose of this Institute is to provide training and tools for teachers to integrate arts into their regular classroom lesson.

The workshops are 90 minutes long. The expected format is teaching the class just as you would a room full of your students! There should be time left at the end for questions. Each participant should be able to walk away with a lesson plan and new tools on how to integrate arts successfully into their lessons.

Should your workshop proposal be accepted, Mono COE’s CESSAI will pay you a $150 honorarium per session taught, and cover a two-night stay in a hotel should you need those accommodations*. Cost of materials and supplies that you need for your class will be provided. *Mono County residents please contact us before making reservations for accommodations.

All workshop proposals should include the following:

  • Engaging format that involves the audience and stimulates discussion.
  • Strong lesson plan, well-written, with clearly stated Scope and Sequence and outcomes with the Common Core State Standards met in both the focus subject and Visual and Performing Arts standards.
  • Deadline for proposals is March 15, 2020.

Workshops will be reviewed for purpose and grade level to provide a balanced educational program. Applicants will be notified about their proposal status via email by March 31st
